WAHO Member · Sarajevo
The only stud farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina dedicated to preserving one of the rarest horse breeds in the world.
The Bosnian Arabian Horse Stud Farm is dedicated to preserving and developing one of the most distinctive and historically significant horse breeds to originate in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It all began in 2020, with the founding of the first registered breeding stud after the war. Today it is the foundation of the breed's revival, and every foal born here proudly carries the name “El Bosna”.
Through expert breeding, a scientific approach, and international cooperation, we are building a secure and sustainable future for this noble breed.
The first post-war breeding stud in BiH dedicated exclusively to the Bosnian Arabian horse.
A population gathered through the UUBAK breeders' association.
Recognition by the World Arabian Horse Organization, spanning 91 member countries.
The breeding of the Arabian horse in Bosnia spans more than 134 years, beginning with the first desert horses brought from Syria in 1895. During the 1992–1995 war the breed nearly vanished. Stud farms were destroyed and numbers collapsed. Today, every new foal carries that story forward.
