UUBAK becomes an associate member of WAHO

January 2026 will be remembered as one of the most important moments in the modern history of the Bosnian Arabian horse. The Association of Breeders and Lovers of the Bosnian Arabian Horse (UUBAK) became an associate member of the World Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO).

What this recognition means

WAHO brings together 91 member countries and sets the standards for the registration, breeding and preservation of purebred Arabian horses worldwide. Associate membership means that UUBAK has passed a rigorous review of its studbook, registration methods and breeding quality.

For the Bosnian Arabian horse, this confirms that the breed has its place in the global Arabian-horse family — and marks the first step towards full international recognition.

The next steps

The long-term goal is full membership, with our own studbook recognised at the international level. Until then, we continue our work on breeding, scientific research and growing the population of the breed.
